The GreenCap environmental control system (ECS) is based on technology developed and tested by GreenCap Solutions AS, Norway. Our business is to provide energy efficient climate control for greenhouses, where natural climate challenges the production efficiency of an industrial greenhouse. This technology is called GreenCap ECS (Environmental Control System). The GreenCap technology is mainly focusing on three issues in a greenhouse:
GreenCap Solutions AS has developed ECS technology to grow plant crops in an indoor closed environment. This technology allows the greenhouse operation to benefit from reduced energy consumption by using smart energy distribution, and use of heat pump technology. There will be no CO2 emission to the atmosphere, and at least 50% more efficient use per kg injected CO2 when the greenhouse has a closed loop ventilation.
The closed loop ventilation handles humidity and temperature, and the condensate humidity (plain fresh water), can be reused in the greenhouse for watering the plants. UV treatment of recirculated air and water will keep the plants at good health. In addition, the plant crop benefits from keeping a higher and more stable CO2 level, and the production of vegetables will increase.
Our ECS system optimizes greenhouse performance as air is continually withdrawn from the greenhouse and dehumidified, preserving the recovered water for re-use. Temperature is then adjusted using heat from the dehumidifying process and air is enriched with clean CO2 before recycled to the greenhouse.
In 2016, GCS developed a groundbreaking way to capture CO2 from the air. Our process is based on the adsorption concept. We use an optimised zeolite as adsorbent with unique features, that substantially increases the efficiency and reduces environmental impacts of CO2 capture.
